Workshops / European Heritage Days 2017 – Heritage and Nature / People, Places, Stories

The Roman Mosaic is an important cultural heritage present in the Archaeological Sites involved in the “Mosaico – Conímbriga e Sicó” Project Network – Network consisting of the Ruins of the Roman city of Conímbriga, the Roman Villa of Rabaçal and the Monumental Complex of Santiago da Guarda.
Being of enormous cultural and artistic value, the Roman Mosaic is the central theme of the series of Workshops to be carried out in the various archaeological Sites mentioned and in their corresponding museological spaces. In this way, through workshops guided by competent teachers and having access to all necessary materials and utensils, as well as all relevant information, participants will have the opportunity to get in touch with the Mosaic creative universe and its artistic expression in the Period of the Roman presence in the territory in question, simultaneously producing their own mosaics and taking their own accomplished work with them.

The program is carried out in the three Archaeological Sites of the Network.

The Workshops enable the Mosaic creation experience. Individual work will be kept by each participant at the end of their participation.

Each participant will have to register for at least a three-hour session (the registration fee for each session is 15 Euros). Each interested party can sign up for the number of sessions they wish.
